Nikhil Kapoor decides to re-locate from Parksville,USA straight to Bombay where he is invited to sing at a club \'anti-clock\'. It is here that he meets with Anamika Joshi and is instantly smitten, but she does not even introduce herself. The next time they meet, he is in company of his friends, Rahul Kher and Steve O\'Brien, while Anamika is with Farhad, who is possessive about her and refuses to let her talk with Nikhil, as a result an altercation takes place, Farhad draws out a gun, resulting in a physical struggle, the gun ends up in Nikhil\'s hand, and Rahul gets shot. Farhad, whose dad is a senior police official quietly leaves for Australia, Rahul gets paralyzed and loses the use of his legs, and Nikhil is arrested and held in a cell. Rahul refuses to speak with him, and he has no way of contacting Anamika to try and prove his innocence.
